7. What happens next?
After the consultation closing date all the responses will be analysed and we’ll write a report on the results.
This report will be presented to officers who have responsibility for street trading, who will consider whether to recommend a change to our current street trading policy to Councillors, and also whether any changes are needed to draft new policy as a result of the consultation responses.
A further report will then be presented to Councillors with a recommendation on whether or not to change the current street trading policy and, if the recommendation is to change the policy, then a copy of the relevant policy, with any revisions made as a consequence of the consultation, will be presented to Councillors together with a copy of the consultation response report.
Councillors on Cabinet will consider the matter first before it is passed to the Licensing and Enforcement Committee to make the decision. There is a requirement for newspaper adverts at key stages of this process.
