8. Promotion

Where individuals are promoted to a higher grade, the salary level should be pitched at the bottom of the new grade. 

If the individual is promoted between 1 April and 30 September, this employee would not receive an increment increase until the following April.  If the individual is promoted between 1 October and 31 March, this employee will receive an increment rise after six months and thereafter April.

Honoraria

This is the mechanism by which employees will be rewarded for temporarily covering a post with greater responsibility than their normal duties. More information is available in the Pay & Grading section of the employment handbook.
