19. Liaison and working with other regulators
14.1 Every effort will be made to co-ordinate enforcement activity and avoid duplicating work which is the responsibility of other authorities or departments. The Service will not generally investigate or enforce where more specific legislation is enforced by another regulatory body or service. The Service will, however, liaise with that other body, to ensure effective co-ordination, to avoid inconsistencies or duplication and to ensure that any action is taken by the most appropriate body and for the most appropriate legislative breach.
14.2 Where there is a conflict of interest in premises owned by the Local Authority and run by a private management committee, the Service will liaise with the Health & Safety Executive over issues of enforcement.
