East Devon Tenants Garden Competition 2017. Once again, the tenants of East Devon District Council have excelled themselves this year with a beautiful display of gardens.  There were 51 entries this year.  There were a staggering 32 gold prizes this year. Kieron Bewes (Horticultural Consultant) was the judge and using the Royal Horticultural Society judging method. 16 obtained Silver and 3 obtained Bronze. The Tenants Garden Competition is an annual event organised by Tenant Participation within the Housing Service at East Devon District Council. The results of the garden competition are: Manor Close Tenant Association won Gold in the Communal & Friends Garden category & Best on the Day competition winner for 2017.

The winners celebrated with a prize giving tea and cakes in the Council Chamber, Council Offices, Sidmouth on the 8th August 2017.

There was a raffle and prizes consisted of a birdbox kit donated by The Mens Shed; made up decorated birdboxes and books donated by Countryside Team along with assorted garden supplies donated by Bev Anderson Tenant Participation Assistant.

 

The feedback of the event was very good and tenants enter because they are proud of their gardens which highlights the area they live in.
