Workshop

‘Home Safety Fire Trigger-point’ training is provided by the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service. This training is essential for all front line staff who regularly come into contact with vulnerable members of our community .

EDDC have a working partnership with DSFRS who would like our staff, once trained, to refer members of the community with an increased risk of fire in the home to receive a free, simple, non-judgmental Home Fire Safety visit.  Staff will  learn how to identify behavioural habits that may put a vulnerable person at risk and how to make a referral on their behalf.

It should be noted that most fires in the home are due to behaviour not electrical failure and by carrying out these Home Fire Safety visits the likelihood of a fire is reduced by up to 90%.

Intended for:

All front line staff who regularly come into contact with vulnerable members of our community.
