When you book onto a course you are entrusted to ensure this has been agreed with your line manager.

The aim of the course is to understand the experiences and issues relating to children and vulnerable adults who may be at risk from harm.

Workshop

This is a single-agency course and is for staff who have infrequent contact with children or adults at risk of harm or may come into contact with children and families regularly as part of their work but do not work consistently with the same children or families. The aim of the course is to understand the experiences and issues relating to children and adults who may be at risk from harm. The course will enable delegates to:

  • Explain how different types of abuse may occur and how they may remain hidden
  • Gather information in order to make appropriate alerts/enquiries
  • Explain your role and the roles of others in safeguarding children, adults and victims of domestic abuse.
  • Explain what happens following an alert/enquiry.

Intended for:

Group 2: those in regular contact or have a period of intense but irregular contact with children, young people, adults at risk of harm and/or parents/carers. For example, housing, environmental staff, community support officers, hospital staff, YOT staff and staff in secure settings, sports development officers and play scheme volunteers.

If no dates are scheduled you will be able to add your name onto a waiting list and you will be contacted when a date has been arranged. To register interest in a future course please email the Learning and Development Team with the title of the course you wish to attend.
