We have consulted during 2016 and 2017 to seek responses to our proposal to open up street trading across the district.  If this goes ahead it will mean that street trading can take place in more locations but all applicants will need to apply for a permit, pay a fee and get our consent.

Most locations are currently prohibited and street trading cannot take place by law.  The responses to our consultation have been positive and suggest that both public and businesses would like to see the option for more street trading in more locations.

The licensing and enforcement committee has given approval to begin the legal changes to allow this to happen later this year.

We have published a public notice in local newspapers which sets out the proposal and is required by law before we make any changes.  This is also to allow any further written comments in relation to the proposal.

If you want to make a comment please write to us or send us an email.
