Sidmouth folk week and seafront consents

Seasonal variations do not apply to these fees

Preference will be given to applicants booking for 7 days which is the maximum number of days available.

  • Fee for a 7 day consent - £273

Non-seafront trading consents

These fees apply from 1 May to 30 September inclusive

  • Fee for a 1 day consent - £30
  • Fee for a 7 day consent - £210

Non-seafront trading consents

These fees apply from 1 October to 31 March inclusive

  • Fee for a 1 day consent - £25
  • Fee for a 7 day consent - £175

Street trading consent fee - 1 month to 12 months

Seasonal variations do not apply to these fees

Maximum consent period is 12 months

  • Fee for a 1 month period consent - £395
  • Fee for a 3 month period consent - £575
  • Fee for a 6 month period consent - £795
  • Fee for a 12 month period consent - £1200

Charitable street trading consent fees e.g. Seaton Town

These fees are for charities and non-commercial organisations

Seasonal varlations do not apply

  • Fee for a 1 day consent - £30 per market
  • Fee for a 7 day consent - Half daily fees apply

Notes:

  1. Community Events organised or promoted by East Devon town and parish councils may be suitable for fee concessions of up to 70% for applications submitted under the following circumstances:
    1. An employee of the council concerned submits a 'block booking' being the named applicant,
    2. Details required under the guidance for obtaining a street trading consent are to be obtained and submitted by the applicant (points A to I)
    3. A written summary outlining the benefit of that event to the town or parish (including any projected income direct to the town or parish council) is provided with the application
    4. Commercial traders who retain full/part profit from sales may be included for a concession
    5. Charitable traders passing all profits to the charity will be exempt from fees
    6. Fee concessions will be limited to events from 1-7 days
    7. Fee concessions are not applied to Sidmouth Folk Week traders on the Esplanade
  2. Mobile traders (hot food, fish & chips or similar) will be required to pay the required daily seasonal fee wherever trading occurs within the district regardless of the number of locations visited daily. Trading will not be authorised and will not be legal in any prohibited location.
  3. Itinerant sellers (ice cream sellers) will not be charged a trading fee providing the trading is conducted on a mobile basis, not being static at an event and provided each stop is not in excess of 30 minutes and there is no return to a similar trading position within 2 hours. Trading will not be authorised and will not be legal in any prohibited location.
  4. Seasonal variations will not apply to street trading consents granted for periods longer than one week.
  5. Fees applied to traders seeking consents from one month up to a maximum on 12 months will be on a reducing scale.
  6. Fees will be reviewed on an annual basis
  7. Seafront consents may be considered for longer terms where appropriate.  
  8. Fees for street consents issued for a period of 1 to 12 months may be reimbursed to consent holders where they cease to trade and surrender their consent to the council. Any fee reimbursement will be on a pro rata basis from when the consent is surrendered minus a £10 administration fee.
  9. The first £30 of any application fee is a contribution towards the council’s processing fee while the remainder is towards the costs of administering / enforcing the street consent regime. This will include all seasonal non-seafront trading consents from 1 day to 12 months.
