Council’s Fun Day in February promises a good time for tenants with activities and refreshments
East Devon District Council is organising a Community Fun Day on Saturday 21 February, from 10am-3pm, for all its housing tenants in Sidford.
The Fun Day, which is aimed at people of all ages, will be taking place at Lower Brook Meadow in Sidford and is free to attend.
There will be a range of delicious refreshments available on the day, including a hog roast, as well as lots of fun activities and demonstrations, such as:
- The Fire Brigade with their simulator
- A chance to learn circus skills
- Face painting
- Glitter tattoos
- A bouncy castle
- Giant games
The event is also designed to give tenants a chance to get to know their local councillors from East Devon District Council better. Several councillors will be attending and will be happy to answer any questions people might have about the work that they do.
The local police force will be participating in the Fun Day, as will representatives from the council’s Environmental Health, Housing, Estate Management and StreetScene teams, who will be on hand to provide a wide range of information about the services they offer.
Anyone interested in a healthy lifestyle should take the opportunity to visit the Sugar Swaps stand, where they will find plenty of great ideas for recipes, shopping tips, cooking and meal ideas, exercise and lots more ways to feel healthier and happier.
This event is all about bringing the community together and getting people talking, laughing, sharing ideas and generally having a good time.
We want to involve all our tenants in this fun day and to get them mixing with each other. It’s a lovely old fashioned concept that is aimed at all ages and we hope it’s going to give people a lot of enjoyment, as well as practical advice and information.
Our Estate Management team is organising this event and I’m extremely proud of the enormous amount of hard work they have put into its preparation.
