Seaton Wetlands – a beautiful and atmospheric place to learn the art of willow weaving

East Devon's Countryside adds willow weaving to its range of courses

The East Devon District Council Countryside team is  delighted to welcome Windrush Willow to the Seaton Wetlands to lead three sessions on willow weaving for beginners.

There will be two half day sessions on Wednesday 27 May when participants will make a plant support for sweet peas or beans to take away with them. The cost of this session is £22 including materials.

On Saturday 4 July there will be a one-day course on how to make a simple frame basket, which can then be taken home. The cost is £37 including materials.

A spokesperson for East Devon's Countryside team, said:

We are expanding our range of events this season and willow weaving is an exciting new departure for us. The venue at Seaton Wetlands provides a beautiful and atmospheric surrounding to learn this traditional craft skill, and there has been lots of interest already, so book early to avoid disappointment.
