Fun filled Easter activities in East Devon with the Countryside team

Join Countryside for discovery walks, egg trails, nature trails and much more over Easter

East Devon District Council’s Countryside team is hosting an action-packed list of outdoor based events over the Easter holiday break.

The council’s Education and Countryside Rangers are inviting families to join them for a variety of fun activities at East Devon’s countryside sites.

For pre-school children and children under the age of seven, there is a series of Little ones’ wild walks, involving games and wildlife discovery activities, which are taking place in Seaton, Sidmouth, Exmouth and Honiton.

  • March 22, 10am, Honiton Bottom Community Nature Reserve
  • March 22, 1.35pm, Seaton Marshes
  • March 23, 10am, Phear Park, Exmouth
  • March 23, 1.45pm, The Knapp, Sidmouth

There is a suggested donation of £2 for the walks. Please contact the Countryside team to book a place on 01395 517557 or email: countryside@eastdevon.gov.uk.

At Seaton Wetlands there are Easter egg trails and Easter craft activities taking place.

Drop in for the eggs-plorers trail, which is taking place daily from March 25 through to April 8, from 10am to 4pm. Pick up a map and follow the trail of special bird boxes to find out who has been laying eggs at the Wetlands. Completed trails win a prize.

On March 29 join an East Devon Education Ranger for an Easter egg challenge, from 10am to 1pm. This involves a self-led trail, as well as Easter crafts and challenges at the Reed Base, Seaton Wetlands.

Both of these events are free with a suggested donation of £1 per trail, there is no need to book a place.
