Theme for this year’s conference is ‘Supporting You’

East Devon District Council tenants are being invited to a ‘Supporting You’ annual conference at the Ocean complex in Exmouth on Tuesday September 20.

The event, from 10am to 4.30pm, is arranged by tenants, for tenants and the programme will deal with issues that affect all EDDC tenants.

The agenda will include issues such as the support charges, repairs and maintenance and home improvements and there will be opportunities throughout the day to discuss these with officers and councillors who will be attending.

There will also be two awards presented to people who tenants think deserve recognition for the work they do for others. The first award will be for a tenant, nominated by tenants and others, for the help they give to neighbours or to the wider community. The second will be an award for a member of staff nominated by tenants and other staff members, for the friendly, efficient and helpful customer service they provide.

Councillor Jill Elson, East Devon District Council’s portfolio holder for Sustainable Homes and Communities, said:

Our conferences are always popular and very informative. They are an ideal opportunity for us to listen and to find out more about the things that really matter to our tenants. It’s also great for the unsung heroes of our community to be recognised through the awards. Why not speak to your friends and neighbours and decide between you who you think deserve these awards?

A free lunch and raffle will also be provided on the day and to book your place and make your nomination please contact East Devon District Council’s Tenant Participation on 01395 517453 or email no later than Monday 12th September 2016.
