A morning of natural crafts were enjoyed in Honiton.
During the summer holidays, children from Honiton and the surrounding area enjoyed a morning of crafts around the campfire at Honiton Bottom.
The event was organised by the East Devon District Council Countryside team and involved a morning full of outdoor crafts. Children were taught new skills such as campfire cooking and were encouraged to be creative as they made items from natural materials such as jewellery from elder, leaf print flags and artists charcoal from willow.
Education Ranger, Penny Evans who co-ordinated the morning said:
Everyone had great fun using natural materials to create some truly beautiful items to take home. A highlight for many was the bananas, marshmallows and popcorn which were cooked on the campfire at the end of the morning.
Helen Brown, a parent who attended with her eight year old son Oliver said:
The crafts around the campfire activities were brilliant, as was the Family Adventure Day in Holyford Woods which I attended at the start of the school holidays– thank you to Penny and the Countryside team for a great summer!
