Staff and volunteers from the EDDC Countryside team are supporting Hospiscare.
Information and Events Officer, Eleanor Head who is coordinating the coffee morning said:
Our volunteers are fantastic bakers and often bring cake along to volunteering sessions, we thought it would be great to use their talents to showcase Seaton Wetlands and to support a local charity. During the coffee morning we’ll be serving cream teas at £3 per person as well as other delicious homemade cakes.
We’re looking forward to welcoming our regular visitors as well as people new to the Wetlands and we’re hoping that Radio and TV presenter, Judi Spiers will be attending.
Cllr Iain Chubb, East Devon District Councils portfolio holder for the Environment, said:
Seaton Wetlands is a tranquil site which helps to encourage health and wellbeing to those who visit and the volunteers involved at the site, it is fantastic that the Countryside team and Seaton Wetland volunteers will be encouraging more people to visit on for their coffee morning on Thursday 22 September whilst supporting such a worthwhile local charity.
This is a great chance to come and explore the nature reserve and take in the array of wildlife, birds and plants. There is free parking through Seaton Cemetery. The site is accessible on foot, bike or wheelchair. If you would like to arrange the hire of the mobility Tramper please contact the Countryside team. More information on the Hospsicare coffee morning and Seaton Wetlands can be found online or by contacting the Countryside team via email: email@example.com or telephone: 01395 517557.
