Countryside team announces Spring and Summer events in the countryside

Explore the wonderful East Devon countryside this spring and summer

East Devon District Council is delighted to announce that the 2017 events guide for Countryside has been published.

The guide, which runs from April through to September, is jam-packed with outdoor events and activities for all ages, which will take place across the district.

As well as over 60 events delivered by the Countryside team there are nearly 100 other events delivered by partner organisations to choose from.

Whether you fancy foraging for a wild lunch, trying out Tai Chi in the countryside or want to learn more about local wildlife on a guided canoe tour there really is something for everyone.

Countryside team leader (People), Tim Dafforn said:

Each year we are amazed at the fantastic array of events taking place in East Devon. The Countryside events guide is a great resource for local people and visitors to East Devon who are looking to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in the East Devon.

The guide includes a number of established favourites including canoe safaris, which are delivered in partnership with the Axe Vale Canoe Club, as well as newer events including outdoor Tai Chi, yoga and meditation, bat walks, photography lessons and much more.

We’re really looking forward to working with the organisations who have contributed towards the guide, and seeing another successful summer in East Devon.

Councillor Paul Diviani, the Leader of East Devon District Council, said:

Countryside’s events guide celebrates the diverse range of activities on offer in the district, from toddler trails through to plant and cake sales - all ages and all interests are accommodated. I’m looking forward to hearing more tales from residents who discover new sites and develop new hobbies, as well as from holidaymakers who return from their trip eager to book their next visit.
