Community groups need to apply now to enter Dragon’s Den style funding event on 30 November 2017 at Beehive, Honiton – closing date for applications is 10 November
Community groups from the Honiton area of East Devon are being invited to pitch their ideas to members of the local community and a panel of ‘dragons’ from Honiton Town Council, East Devon District Council, Devon County Council, Big Lottery and Action East Devon at a Dragon’s Den type event to be held at the Beehive in Honiton on 30 November 2017.
This will be the third year that the agencies - working jointly as Honiton Together - have organised the event, which will allow applicants to pitch their ideas to the community in the hope of gaining funding from a £4,000 grant pot.

It's been a really successful way of getting funding to groups for projects that the community has voted to support.
Cllr Jill Elson, East Devon District Council’s portfolio holder for sustainable homes and communities said she welcomes another Dragons Den type event for local community groups.
They will have the opportunity to present the work they do to an audience of local people who then vote for the one they consider the best. The winners will receive a welcome £500 to help them to prosper. It’s a very fair way of distributing funding, as at the end of the day it’s the community who gets to vote for the projects, which they feel the funding would best help.
Groups whose projects will support the health and wellbeing of residents of Honiton and surrounding parishes are invited to apply now for grants of up to £500. Applications forms and guidance notes can be downloaded from the East Devon website.
The closing date for applications is 10 November 2017.
