Award winning local tea room proprietors to bring their own high quality brand of catering to Orcombe Point
It’s official – a new and exciting refreshment kiosk, offering delicious high quality food and drink is opening during the Easter holidays at Orcombe Point in Exmouth.
East Devon District Council is delighted that a new lease for the refreshment kiosk has been signed by Debra and Toby Quine, who currently run the popular, award winning Bumble and Bee tea rooms in Exmouth’s Manor Gardens. They are now installing a takeaway kiosk providing high quality drinks and snacks.
The Quine’s are passionate about food, using only organic, locally sourced and seasonal produce whenever possible. They will be combining their outstanding food and customer service to deliver an exciting range of refreshments and the council is very happy to help them expand their offer in Exmouth.
Visitors to the area will find a welcome at the new kiosk on the site of the existing platform at the Orcombe Point end of Exmouth’s seafront, where there is already considerable demand for this type of refreshment outlet.
The council’s announcement follows on from a planning application and marketing exercise in 2017, together with works to provide a power supply to the site.
Commenting on their Orcombe Point enterprise, Debra and Toby Quine said: “We are so excited to be taking on this new venture and look forward to providing a quality range of food and drinks from the kiosk.”
Cllr Mark Williamson, East Devon’s ward member for Exmouth Littleham and lead councillor for Neighbourhood Planning, said:
There has been demand for refreshments in this area of the seafront for some time, so the new kiosk will be a much needed asset for this part of Exmouth. Having played a part in the process, I am excited to see matters concluded and I wish the new tenants every success.
Cllr John Humphreys, East Devon’s ward member for Littleham and Lead Councillor for Exmouth, said:
I am delighted that we have been able to respond to public demand and ensure that this much desired amenity will soon be up and running at this hugely popular part of the sea front where we have already seen other improvements in recent years.
