Change of house name
We will contact Royal Mail to request the name change. They will run a check against any similar property names in your postal district. If there is a similar property name in the area we will ask you for a second choice. If there isn't the name will be changed on Royal Mail's database.
We will then update the EDDC address database and inform all the necessary parties including the emergency services and Land Registry.
You will then receive a letter from us, via email if possible, to confirm your new property name.
Register a new development
You will receive a confirmation letter with the plot to postal details.
If your site requires a new street name, the name suggestion will be agreed as acceptable with Royal Mail and then the details will be sent to the Town/Parish Council for consideration. Once agreed the full postal address details will be sent to you via email where possible.
