The scheme

Raymond Brown Construction has been appointed by East Devon District Council to construct the new Mamhead Slipway.

The principle elements of the project include demolition of the existing slipway, construction of a new longer and wider realigned slipway, trailer turning area, retaining wall and flood wall with flood gates and a kerb realignment.

The project started at the beginning of March and it is anticipated that it will be completed in autumn 2016.

Minimising disturbance

Raymond Brown Construction is committed to ensuring that its presence and the works on behalf of East Devon District Council have minimal adverse impact on the community and local environment.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that may be caused by the traffic management arrangements we have had to introduce and for any disruption caused as a result of our site deliveries and the noise and vibration of the site operations.

We will be putting equipment in place to monitor noise and vibration throughout the piling operations to ensure that the levels do not exceed the allowable limits. The location of these monitoring points is being agreed with the East Devon District Council’s environmental health officers.
