Set out below is information relating to the Council’s own car parks located in Sidmouth

The Ham East, The Ham West and Roxburgh - short stay car parks

Charging Period 8.00 am to 6.00 pm daily

General Restriction:




3 hours maximum stay – (Special offer – buy 3 hours get 4th hour FREE).  No return within 1 hour of expiry of the previous period of parking.

2, 3, 4 & 7-Day Tickets/Permits:


Tickets/Permits are valid for one visit only of up to 3 hours in each day – No return that same day.

Annual Parking Permits:

Permits are valid for one visit only of up to 3 hours in each day – No return that same day.

Manor Road car park

Charging Period 24 hours daily.

2, 3, 4 & 7-Day and Annual Tickets/Permits can be purchased.

General Restrictions for the Manor Road car park 

Parking of Motor caravans “Motor caravans” (purpose built motor homes, campervans and vehicles that have been adapted or are being used to provide living or sleeping accommodation) may only park in Manor Road car park between the hours of 08:00 and 22:00 hours daily.  This applies even if a ticket/permit has been purchased to cover the whole 24 hours.  This restriction applies even in circumstances when the vehicle is not being used to sleep overnight.  Please be advised that if you intend bringing one of these vehicles to Folk Week and use the Manor Road car park you should arrange alternative parking between 10.00 pm and 8.00 am each day.

Penalty Charge Notices

Failure to comply with the above restrictions may result in the serving of a Penalty Charge Notice for either £50 or £70 dependent on the contravention.

Concession for traders, stallholders, folk week staff, etc.

There are no concessions for traders, stall holders, Folk Week Staff or indeed anyone to any of the above restrictions.  The only area that there are no restrictions is the area behind the swimming pool in the Ham East car park, which will be under the control of the Folk Week Organisers for the week and not available to stall holders trading on the Esplanade.

Privately Owned Car Park near the Bedford Hotel

Regular visitors to Sidmouth will be aware that there is a car park next to the Bedford Hotel on the seafront.  This car park is privately owned and the Council has no involvement with the operation of this business.
