East Devon Assets are classified as either Land or Buildings.

Some Land Records will have  building assets either totally on on partly on its extent.

With this set up East Devon cannot use the recommended classification of land without buildings/land with buildings.

An extra field has been added to list the "parent asset"  A land asset could have one or more child building assets

Some building assets in turn have child assets.  For example there may be a asset of "15 Chalets" this record will have child assets of individual chalets.

If the parent asset code is the same as the record asset code then there are no more children

East Devon are currently moving the asset database to a new system and checking all the data as it is moved.  Some records may not currently have details of lease out/in status.
