ARTIST ROOMS Richard Long Being in the Moment marks the first collaboration between Thelma Hulbert Gallery and ARTIST ROOMS to bring the work of the renowned British sculptor and land artist, Richard Long, to East Devon.

Richard Long (b. 1945) is recognised as one of the most influential artists of our time. His work is characterised by a radical approach to nature and a unique investigation into landscape through the act of walking.

The exhibition features work that spans 40 years of Long’s career from 1966 to 2006, starting with early experiments in the South West of England.  Here began a life-long investigation into landscape as both space and material, taking Long to remote locations across the world. From photography, maps, and texts, to mark making and sculpture, this exhibition captures Long’s personal, way of being with nature and invites a moment of reflection on our own relationship with landscape and the natural world.

Projects, workshops, talks and walks will be taking place across locations in East Devon and at the University of Exeter - more details
