Following the partial relaxation of Social Distancing measures East Devon District Council is pleased to let you know that our beach hut season will commence from July 4 2020.

What this means for you

You will be able to use your hut from this date, but please be a good neighbour and follow the current government guidelines around Social Distancing and staying safe outside of your home. Do not use your hut if you are symptomatic or unwell and be respectful of other beach users and beach hut tenants at all times.

Beer

East Shelf only – Area to be maintained for access only – Please do not sit in front of your hut to allow safe access in and out of the huts for other users – only one person allowed on the steps at a time.

Seaton

The barrier will be open from 30th June until 21st July, Monday to Friday only. Please arrange for your hut to be erected during this time.

If you are unable to erect the hut due to contractor unavailability or shielding/social distancing issues we will hold your space until next year. Please inform us as soon as possible.

We request that huts are put up in non-peak times where possible e.g. avoid weekends, fine weather and target quieter times. Please ensure that huts are erected safely with consideration and awareness for surrounding beach users.

If using a contractor then appropriate public liability insurance should be in place and witnessed before commencing work. Particular care must be taken when entering and exiting the site by vehicle, adhering to a 5mph speed limit and watching out for pedestrians at all times.

The bollard will be open from 30th June until 21st July, Monday to Friday only. If you are unable to use the hut due to shielding/social distancing issues please let us know as soon as possible and we will keep you on the list for 2023.

Due to the narrow access do not sit on the concrete path immediately in front of your hut. This area is for access and only one person at a time should use it. Please wait your turn at the bottom of the access steps.

Do not put down floor coverings in the hut as this traps moisture in the floor.
