17. Why is my claim suspended?
Your claim could be suspended if we have been informed of a change in your circumstances which affects your entitlement.
This is to avoid any overpayment of benefit that you would have to pay back. Our letter will explain the reason we have suspended your claim and what you need to do.
You have 1 calendar month to respond or provide information. If you are struggling to gather information, please let us know and we can consider giving you extra time.
You can also sign up to view your claim details online, including correspondence.
You need to tell us about anything that could affect the amount of benefit that we pay you within one month for Housing Benefit or 21 days for Council Tax Reduction/Support.
Civil Penalties may apply if you do not tell us about changes in time.
