3. Can my neighbour object?

No. Neighbours can't make objections with regards to building regulations application. Objections may be raised under other legislation, particularly if your proposal is subject to approval under the town and country planning acts.

Whilst there is no requirement in the building regulations for you to consult your neighbour, you may need to notify them of your proposals under the Party Wall Act if you share a party wall. Please visit Gov.uk for more information regarding the Party Wall Act.
