Culture, Leisure and Tourism Fund - Successful Applicants
The Culture, Leisure and Tourism Fund – funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Rural England Prosperity Fund–provided grants to either community organisations seeking to decarbonise their operations or tourism businesses looking to decarbonise or improve the accessibility of their premises above statutory requirements. Community organisations could apply for up to £20,000 with a requirement of 10% match funding and tourism businesses could apply for up to £5,000 with a 50% match funding requirement. The 23 successful projects are listed below.

Beer Sailing Club provides sailing for all levels of experience and provide wider support to the community with a warm space initiative, improvements to beach access, the provision of a defibrillator and involvement in numerous charitable events in the village. They were awarded funding for solar panels and battery storage to facilitate the switch from gas water heating to solar electric and significantly reduce external energy consumption across the site. |

Honiton Community Complex – The Beehive |

The Beehive is an award-winning community venue in Honiton, East Devon, with a programme of live events, cinema & space for community activities, performing arts, visual art exhibitions, workshops, meetings and conferences. They received funding to replace all their current light bulbs and light fittings with LED light fixtures and bulbs.

Westpoint is the SW's largest indoor arena, hosting a variety of conferences, exhibitions and events throughout the year attracting large number of local residents and tourists. They received funding to improve their disabled toilet facilities to accommodate a range of needs based on user feedback and requests. |

Larch Barn provides holiday accommodation for guests within 17 acres of natural woodland and meadows. The funding received will be used for the installation of solar system with a solar battery to replace the electrical supply from the grid. |

Mazzard Farm |

Mazzard Farm offers holiday accommodation set within acres of woodland and orchards. They generate around 10,000 kWh solar power annually through existing solar PV, and have received funding to install a solar PV battery storage system. |

Hill View is a self-catered holiday accommodation near Colyton. They have been awarded funding to install solar panels with battery storage to support the air source heat pump in providing heat and electricity to the property. |

Pooh Cottage Holiday Park |
£5,000 |
|
Pooh Cottage provides pitches for both seasonal and touring caravans, motor homes and tents. They have received funding to install an EV charging point and an electric bike charging point with enough solar panels to generate the power required to operate the points. |

Red Rock Leisure Ltd |
£5,000 |
|
Red Rock are a campsite and a wedding venue who are already on their decarbonisation journey. They have received funding to install solar PV on their site. |
||
Smallicombe Farm |
£3,680 |
|
Smallicombe Farm provides self-catering accommodation within a family-run farm setting. Existing Biomass heating system that provides heating and hot water to the whole site . They received funding to improve the efficiency of the heating system by adding a Solar Thermal system to supplement the Biomass and reduce their reliance on fuel. |

Thorn Golf and Leisure Centre is a nine-hole golf course, driving range, and a musical and wedding venue. They were awarded funding to put solar PV on the roof of their centre. |

Webbers Park are a holiday park with static caravans available for rent and pitches for hire for tents, tourers and motorhomes. They received a grant to place a solar panel on the roof of the park laundry building (where the park linen is washed), to help decarbonise their business. |

Withycombe Rugby Football Club provide rugby facilities for men, women, and children , as well as facilities for social events, dance classes, , Yoga, Bingo and School Sports Days. Having installed solar panels, they received a grant to install a storage battery to utilise all the energy produced on site. |
