1. Axminster

Community Waffle House

The Community Waffle House in Axminster are helping co-ordinate both a face-to-face and a 'Phone Waffling Service' for local residents that are lonely or isolated to make sure that no-one goes without regular human interaction at this time. They are also hosting an online "Community Hot Seat" where groups in the community can advertise the events and the groups that are available to support people through the impact of Covid-19. They're also working with tech professionals and volunteers to help provide digital support to people. They can offer this service to residents of: All Saints, Axminster, Dalwood, Hawkchurch, Kilmington, Membury, Shute, Southleigh, Stockland and Uplyme.

Project Food

Project Food (previously known as HALFF), are offering:

  • Free homemade ready meals to people in need, made in their kitchens at Axminster Hospital and free fruit or veg boxes.
  • Dietary and nutritional advice.
  • Online cooking sessions, particularly for people isolated at home.
  • Delivery service of fresh fruit, veg and milk. People can phone and place the order over the phone for delivery to their door. Payment by cash or BACS.
