Sid Valley Help

There are over 60 Sid Valley residents who have volunteered various services from dog walking to shopping, collecting meds and chatting on the phone to provide company and connection. If you need help and haven’t received an offer directly from a neighbour or through their postcard scheme:

Sidmouth Hospiscare

Tailored care and support for people in the Sid Valley diagnosed as palliative, and their carers and families. Commissioning and funding specialist nursing and hospice beds from Hospiscare (Exeter). Volunteer support: driving (e.g. medical appointments and shopping), befriending, bereavement support. Organising and signposting to wider support as required. Roman Catholic Church, Sidmouth

Sidmouth Voluntary Services

They're offering:

  • Phone support to elderly residents who would like someone to speak to.
  • Delivery of a hot 3 course meal to elderly residents Monday - Friday.
  • Transport to medical appointments for clients living in the Sidmouth area.

Project Food

Project Food (previously known as HALFF), are offering:

  • Free homemade ready meals to people in need, made in their kitchens at Axminster Hospital and free fruit or veg boxes.
  • Dietary and nutritional advice.
  • Online cooking sessions, particularly for people isolated at home.
  • Delivery service of fresh fruit, veg and milk. People can phone and place the order over the phone for delivery to their door. Payment by cash or BACS.
