6. Performance monitoring
For a regime of sanctions to be effective, it is essential that accurate records of all convictions and penalties are maintained. This will enable the Council to make correct decisions about possible sanction action in future taking full account of any previous offences.
Cases will be monitored on at least a quarterly basis.
In order to monitor and manage this strategy and fulfil its duty to act fairly, reasonably and consistently the Council will keep records on:
- cashable savings
- evidence of error reducing year on year
- number of penalties / prosecutions taken
- number of appeals/challenges/complaints against action taken
