1. Introduction

This council believes it acts in the best interests of the people who live in the area and is responsive to their concerns.  However sometimes there are issues that you believe the council should address and there are a number of ways by which you can be heard.  You can raise matters at any of our meetings, you can contact your elected district councillor and ask that they raise a matter on your behalf or you can contact any relevant officer direct.  You can now also raise matters by way of a petition.  This council welcomes petitions as it recognises that they are another way in which people can let us know their concerns.

There are several types of petitions depending on the number of signatures. This scheme sets out how the Council will respond to petitions.
