5. Cost Recovery
Where permitted by law the Council will seek to recover its costs of investigation and enforcement proceedings. Where the Council has incurred costs, for example by carrying out remedial work or direct action, we will seek to recover the full costs incurred from the exercise of those powers. The Council will pursue the recovery of costs in the civil courts by mechanism permitted by law if deemed appropriate and / or necessary.
