Events

Where there is a cost for an event, your place can only be guaranteed with an advance payment. Book for an event in advance online.

In response to government advice on COVID-19, Wild East Devon did not run public events in April, May & June 2020. This is to protect our volunteers, staff, and the public from the Coronavirus pandemic. We resumed a programme of altered events in July with adapted one household events in the form of guided tours of our Seaton Wetlands nature reserve. In August, we ran more tours but also a few of our easy-to-social-distance partner events such as Yoga & Willow Weaving. Through September and October we ran Guided Walks, Family Activity Sessions and a Halloween Trail in October Half Term, and we hope to run a wreath making course in December covid-permitting.

All events in November have been postponed due to the second England-wide Lockdown.

An up-to-date list of the events going ahead are found in our events listings on our website.

Cancellation

An event may be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Cancellation of a non-bookable event will be posted on the event page and on social media.

When a bookable event is cancelled, we will inform the individuals who have booked using the telephone number and /or email address supplied at the time of booking. If that event involved advance payment, that payment will be refunded.

At events where there is an external partner, we often need to have a minimum number of people booked on. A decision will be taken in advance of the event, and if the event will be cancelled payment will be returned in full to everyone booked on, often with alternative date options. Wild East Devon reserve the right to change events and/or content.

If participants cancel more than one week before the event, 50 per cent of their payment will be returned. If participants cancel less than one week before the event, no refund will be made. Wild East Devon reserve the right to alter to our policies.

It's not always possible to give advance warning when bird ringing events are cancelled, as this decision can be made at the very last minute to protect the welfare of the birds. View the latest events and cancellations on the Axe Estuary Ringing Group blog.

Children

Children under 16 must be accompanied at all events (unless otherwise stated) by an adult, 18 or over.

Clothing

For all outdoor activities wear suitable clothing for the weather and wellies or sturdy boots and bring waterproofs. Long trousers and wellies are advised for heathland events.
