If you provide any seating for people to eat and drink at your premises you must provide public toilets and hand washing facilities for those people to use.

We have byelaws setting the following level of toilet provision at any premises which starts to offer seating for eating or drinking, or where major refurbishment is carried out.

The application of this standard depends on the type and duration of the function.  Permanent premises admitting more than 500 people should make provision for disabled people.

At music and similar events where the number of people is expected to be more than 1,000, the standards in the Purple Guide will apply.
