Exmouth Town Council were given £30,905 from the Communities Together Fund to run a pilot Dragon's Den project within Exmouth. The town council invited applications to the Exmouth Community Fund from projects where the majority of the benefits would be to Exmouth.
All the eligible applications went forward to a community voting event run by Exmouth Town Council and Action East Devon. Project proposers and a maximum of ten of their supporters, local Councillors and community leaders were invited along to an evening event. Project proposers gave a presentation at the event to everyone there explaining what their project was and how it would benefit Exmouth. A panel of 'dragons' then had the opportunity to ask the project a few questions. All the people at the event then got to vote for their 5 favourite projects.
