4. Cold surfaces in your home

Condensation forms more easily on cold surfaces in the home, such as walls and ceilings. These services can be made warmer by improving the insulation and draft-proofing.

Loft and wall insulation are the most effective form of insulation – we are working to improve insulation across our entire stock to make all our properties warmer and more energy efficient.

You may also wish to take some draught-proofing measures, such as blocking the gaps underneath internal doors or around windows.  Please be aware that you should never draught-proof rooms with condensation problems or where there is a heater or cooker that burns gas or solid fuel, or draught proof bathroom or kitchen windows.
