Our repairs service

Like many companies across the country our Repairs and maintenance contractor, Ian Williams, has suffered from a loss of staff through self-isolation.

This has an impact on their ability to deliver a full service to our tenants. We are therefore no longer booking in routine repairs from today, and will only be able to carry out emergency repairs after Friday 27 March.

Please only contact us if a repair is a genuine emergency, such as loss of electricity, water or heating.

If you have a routine repair booked in for after this Friday, this appointment will now be cancelled. You will need to contact us again once our full service resumes to arrange for this work to be carried out. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Gas Servicing

Whether you are self-isolating or not, we still have a statutory duty to carry out the gas servicing in your home to ensure your gas appliances are safe.

Our operatives will ask a set of pre-screening questions before carrying out any works and will adhere to the Public Health Guidelines on social distancing whereby the operative will ask you to move into another room in the property if possible while works are carried out to ensure there is a 2 meter distance at all times. Further, the operative will wear Personal Protective Equipment and ensure all surfaces are wiped down.

If you are shielding or self-isolating due to being in a vulnerable group, the same procedures will apply.

If you are self-isolating due to you or one of your family members displaying symptoms of Covid-19 or have been diagnosed with it, please call Liberty Gas directly on 0800 328 3455 prior to your appointment to ensure we put suitable measures in place to safeguard you and our operatives.

Planned/Programme Works

At present all of our Planned Works Contracts e.g. Kitchen/Bathroom Modernisations, heating upgrades, external refurbishment/decoration, re-roofing, fire safety work etc. are on hold as all the Contractors we currently engage with have stopped delivering such work due to COVID 19.

Whilst work has stopped on site our internal Planned Works Team are busy with preparations for the 2020/21 programmes so that these can be delivered once the current restrictions are lifted and Contractors return to work.

Cyclical Servicing/Compliance Works

At present it is the intention to continue with a cyclical servicing/compliance programmes e.g. electrical testing, legionella checks, overhead track hoist servicing, lift/stairlift servicing etc. to ensure your homes remain safe.

Unless situations dictate e.g. to enable essential repairs to be carried out our specialist Contractor will not be carrying out any routine asbestos management surveys until the current COVID 19 restrictions are lifted.
