2. Lodgers and sub-letting

A lodger is someone who lives with you and shares a room, or rooms, and the household facilities. If you have a secure or flexible tenancy agreement you can let people live as lodgers at the property. If you do this and receive housing benefit, please notify the housing benefit section as it may affect your entitlement.

Under the terms of your tenancy agreement if you have a secure or flexible tenancy agreement you may sub-let part of the property with our written consent. You must not sub-let the whole property as this invalidates your tenancy and legal action will be taken against you.

Tenants on an introductory or demoted tenancy may not sub-let or take in lodgers.
