Halloween at THG ( credit Nia Gould)

Lots of fun art activities will be on offer at the ever-popular Halloween Party at Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG), Honiton.

The fun-packed evening will take place on Saturday 27 October and is part of the national Big Draw Festival and this year’s theme is PLAY.

Artist Sam White will help families play with light by drawing with it. They will also be invited to step inside artist Brendan Barry’s incredible ‘Caravan Camera’ to trace what they see around THG or have their portrait taken.

Artist Penny Evans will be leading a charcoal making workshop and encouraging families to draw with it.

Kids will be able to get up close to lizards, snakes and spiders and stroke them if they dare! Delicious local food will be on offer including wood-fired pizzas, fish &chips and hot chocolate for little trick-or-treaters.

It will also be the last day for visitors to catch the latest art exhibition Experiencing the Landscape: Art on the East Devon, celebrating 25 years of the East Devon Way.

Fiona Page-Turner, Marketing & Fundraising Officer said:

“Our annual Museums At Night party is where we throw open our doors after hours. It has become a firm favourite for local families looking for fun things to do at Halloween. There will be food stalls, music, a bar and lots of great art activities.”

This family-friendly event is part of the national Museums at Night festival, which runs from 25-27 October and The Big Draw Festival (1 – 31 October).
