Registered electors will be able to vote in person at a polling station, by postal vote or by proxy at the elections on Thursday, 6 May.
Polling Stations
Due to social distancing and other safety measures there may be a change in your polling station.
The changes are to ensure everyone can use a polling station in a Covid-secure way.
Polling cards have been sent out showing your polling station address. Please call our helpline 01395 571529 if you are unsure.
Postal voting
If you would prefer to vote by post rather than attend a polling station this year we can send you an application form. Please call 01395 571529 or email electoralservices@eastdevon.gov.uk. We will need to receive completed application forms by 5pm on Tuesday, 20 April 2021. Postal vote packs will be sent out around 23 April 2021.
Proxy voting
If you are unable to cast your vote in person or by post, you can ask someone you trust to cast your vote for you. This is called a proxy vote and the person casting your vote is referred to as your proxy. The person voting on your behalf can either go to your polling station to cast your vote, or can apply to vote for you by post. The person you nominate as proxy must be registered and eligible to vote in local elections.
To apply for a proxy vote please call 01395 571529 or email electoralservices@eastdevon.gov.uk.
The deadline for registering to vote by proxy in the elections on 6th May is 5pm on Tuesday, 27 April 2021. However, if your proxy will need to cast your vote by post, rather than at the polling station, please submit your application by Tuesday, 13 April 2021.
