The Queen Elizabeth II

There will be changes to recycling and waste collections and all LED leisure centres will close in East Devon for the bank holiday Monday (19 September), the day of The Queen's funeral.

Recycling and waste collections will be one day later next week with no service on the day on the day of the funeral. East Devon District Council's (EDDC) offices will be closed for the day.

Due to the national period of mourning, following The Queen's death, there will be no EDDC council meetings this week.

Proclamation

A district proclamation to formally announce the accession of His Majesty, King Charles III was held at EDDC's Honiton headquarters at Blackdown House on Monday, 12 September.

EDDC's Chair, Councillor Ian Thomas, read the proclamation before leading a two minute silence and the singing of the national anthem. The Union Flag outside the Honiton headquarters was raised for the duration of the proclamation and the event coincided with all the district proclamations across Devon.
