219 residents, which is 0.18% of East Devon’s electorate, applied for a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC) before the deadline for the local elections of 5pm on 24 April.
26 of the applications for a VAC were received on the deadline day.
East Devon residents are being reminded to bring along ID on Thursday, 4 May, as the elections to the District Council, Towns and Parishes will be the first since the introduction of this requirement by the UK Government.
Click here for a list of accepted forms of identification. The requirement of ID also applies to those acting as a proxy on behalf of another individual.
Residents with a VAC can retain the certificate for use at future elections, but they cannot use this as proof of identity for any other purpose.
