East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) Community Hubs held a draw for visitors to win a FIFA Women’s World Cup football.

Visitors to some of EDDC’s Community Hubs had the opportunity to win a FIFA Women’s World Cup football signed by Jill Scott, previous captain of the England Women’s football team and 2022 winner of 'I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here'.  The balls were generously donated by Jill and were put into a sweepstake run by the Project Leader of EDDC’s Community Hubs, Lucinda Cliff.

Each team in the Women's World Cup was put into the draw and visitors to the Hubs were asked to draw a ticket.  Spain won and England were second.  The winning ticket was drawn by Kasey, who lives in Broadclyst.  The football-mad, 11-year-old plays for Central FC Under 13's in Exeter.  Kasey was absolutely thrilled that Spain won. As she received her prize, she said,

I’m really excited to have won the football as I really like Jill Scott, but it’s a shame that England didn’t win.

The runner-up prize of a signed practice football was drawn by Dorothy Rider who lives in Budlake.  She was also very pleased to win and is going to give the football to her young granddaughter.
