Exmouth’s outstanding success in Britain in Bloom National Finals 2023 follows the award of Gold and the town’s recognition as the Champion of Champions at this year’s South West in Bloom Awards.
Exmouth in Bloom’s, East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) and Exmouth Town Council’s (ETC) combined efforts were marked highly in all three judging categories of Horticulture, Environment, and Community, resulting in a coveted Gold award.
Exmouth in Bloom’s and ETC's vibrant, co-ordinated colour theme throughout the town, and EDDC’s Parks and Gardens team’s sustainable planting were highlighted and praised.
Gerry Bassett, Chairman of Exmouth in Bloom, said:
“Exmouth in Bloom has worked hard over the last two years to bring our local councils together to raise horticultural standards throughout the town and are pleased to have been the catalyst for the exceptional teamwork that has been evident in this year’s entry”.
Councillor Geoff Jung, EDDC’s Portfolio Holder for Coast, Country, and Environment, added:
