East Devon District Council (EDDC) would like to assure residents that it is actively investigating ways to ensure that there is sufficient parking at all times of the day in Exmouth.
Devon County Council’s extended permit parking zone within the Colonies area of Exmouth came into effect in August 2023, which has put extra pressure on the town’s car parks.
EDDC’s £2 all-day Winter parking offer has been popular again this year, with many residents across the district taking the opportunity to support local businesses. The offer began on 1 November 2023 and will run until the end of March 2024.
EDDC are sorry for any inconvenience that a lack of available car park spaces in Exmouth has caused this winter. Changes to car parks, or terms and conditions, require due process to be followed, so these cannot be carried out overnight. However, the council is listening to the many comments that it has received over the past two months and aims to implement a solution as soon as possible.
