Exmouth's residents and visitors who get around the town on two wheels now have 28 more spaces to park their bikes.
The sites can be found by the RNLI Lifeboat Station on the seafront and in two locations in Phear Park.
By adding these new bike parking spaces, East Devon District Council (EDDC) aims to encourage active travel amongst residents, benefitting their health, wellbeing, and the environment.
In 2021, 29 per cent of emissions in the East Devon area were from transport, so installing new cycling infrastructure like this is an important step to promote a more sustainable way of getting from a-to-b.
Councillor Marianne Rixson, EDDC's Portfolio Holder for Climate Action and Emergency Response, said: "with our declaration of the climate emergency, providing facilities to allow people to travel in a low carbon way is important.
We know there is an active cycling community locally and we are keen to support them with safe and secure cycle parking.”
