We hear from Goronwy Thom, a local circus performer, about the success of his latest show in Sidmouth.

"Variety By The Sea is a crazy comedy cabaret for all ages, shapes and sizes. It features acclaimed circus and cabaret artistes from around the world.

I first put on a show at the Manor Pavilion Theatre in December 2006, the year I moved to Sidmouth officially!

We have a brilliant relationship with the theatre, since I first asked if we could do something 18 years ago, to just this week sorting out 3 nights of sell-out show.

The support I got in the early days, as well as now, is incomparable to most theatres I tour. The care and family feel of the venue is unique.

Shows I have designed at the Manor Pavilion Theatre have gone on to tour around the world, including the West End, Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, The Roundhouse, Edinburgh Festival and many, many others... winning multiple awards. Routines I have created on the stage in Sidmouth have appeared at the London Palladium. Without this theatre, a lot of my shows would never have existed.

It feels amazing to sell-out but I try not to take it for granted. It is rare to sell-out 3 nights so quickly, which shows the appetite for events in this theatre. I hope I can stage many more shows there for years to come."
