Producing a carbon footprint for East Devon
We're on a mission to measure our carbon footprint
 As part of signing up to the Devon Climate Change Declaration (July 2019), East Devon District Council is aiming to become carbon neutral. Carbon neutrality is a term used to describe the action that organisations, businesses and individuals take to remove as much carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as each put into it. The overall goal of carbon neutrality is to achieve a zero carbon footprint.
Exmouth Tidal Defence Scheme progress update
Find out how work is progressing on the Exmouth Tidal Defence Scheme. This is a £12 million scheme to improve flood defences in Exmouth, which East Devon District Council and the Environment Agency are working in partnership to deliver. The scheme will reduce the risk of tidal flooding to over 1,400 residential and 400 commercial properties. Read more

Amazon jobs boost for East Devon
Amazon has confirmed it will relocate its delivery station in Heron Road to a larger 100,000 sq ft purpose-built facility in Exeter Gateway near Cranbrook, later this year. Read more
Crowdfunding helps new waffle house open in Axminster
Thanks to crowdfunding, including a £4,000 contribution from East Devon District Council, Axminster residents and visitors can now sample delicious waffles and drinks from Waffle, a new community waffle house, which has just opened in the town centre. Read more

Since the launch of Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership Growth Hub service more businesses have benefitted from Growth Hub support in East Devon than in any of the other 14 LEP districts. Read more
Respect taxi drivers awareness campaign launches in East Devon
Following recent reported incidents of abuse and assaults on local taxi drivers, the council and the local taxi and licensing association have launched a ‘No excuse for abuse’ awareness campaign, which aims to encourage greater respect from the public for taxi drivers in the district. Read more
