Wild Exmouth project

The innovative Wild Exmouth community wildlife project has the go ahead now thanks to a £65,000 Heritage Lottery Fund grant and funding from East Devon and Exmouth Town Council. It will help enhance the green spaces in Exmouth and engage local residents in exciting practical activities and events. Read more

Unique opportunity to buy a piece of WWII history in Seaton

Seaton’s historic former World War II Searchlight emplacement building, which is owned by East Devon District Council, is being offered for sale by public online auction through Lambert Smith Hampton, at a guide price of £20,000, on 7 November 2018, between 10am and 3 pm. Read more

Increased flights set to benefit Exeter and East Devon Enterprise Zone businesses

Flybe recently added some extra flights on key business routes from Exeter Airport bringing improved national and international connectivity for corporate and leisure trips. Read more

Tour of Britain brings economic benefits

Thousands of spectators – and a fair few cyclists – converged at Cranbrook for the Devon leg of The Tour of Britain cycling race. It’s the tenth time in 12 years that the tour has come to the county and it set out from Devon’s newest town, snaking up to the north, passing through the pannier market in South Molton and finishing in Barnstaple. Cranbrook received some well-deserved national TV coverage and, just as important, a boost to its economy too. It’s estimated that the event brings in around £5 million to the county.

Help us collect more metal and recycle it into something new

East Devon’s award-winning recycling residents are being invited to step up to the challenge and recycle more cans and tins every week so the metal  can be transformed into something new. Read more
