The deadline to register is 26 November
 If you have recently turned 18 or moved home, it is particularly important that you act to ensure that you are registered to vote. It takes just a few minutes online and means that you can take part in this important election. If you’re away on polling day or unable to vote in person, you can apply to vote by post or by proxy.
Alexa initiative wins recycling award
Last month we won a national ‘best new idea’ award for creating the Alexa recycling skill and for our popular East Devon mobile App, which has more than 20,000 subscribers and is the most used citizen app in the country. As more people use devices such as smart phones and Alexa’s, it makes sense that digital technology is used to give residents as much information, in as many ways that are accessible to them, as possible. Ways 2 Wellbeing project is a success
A new and innovative social prescribing pilot project for the East Devon community in Honiton and Seaton, called Ways 2 Wellbeing, has proved a great success. LED Leisure, who run sports and leisure activities on behalf of East Devon District Council, have played a key role in developing the project, having jointly funded with the RD&E NHS foundation trust, a full time Health and Wellbeing Coach to cover the pilot areas. Sid Valley Neighbourhood Plan is made
The Sid Valley Neighbourhood Plan was officially ‘made’ by East Devon District Council following a resolution at a meeting of Cabinet on 30 October and will sit alongside the Council’s local plan. It now becomes part of the Development Plan for East Devon and will be used to determine planning applications for the Sidmouth area. . Read more

Help celebrate Exmouth's trees
Join in a weekend of tree celebrations and planting in Exmouth as part of national tree week. On Saturday 23 November at Phear Park from 11am until late, you can join take part in a tree trail, listening to tree stories and create a tree-mendous future for Exmouth and the surrounding area with a giant tree map. On Sunday 24 November you can be part of a carbon-busting team, creating habitat for birds, bees, mammals and more at our community tree planting day. Come to St John’s Road Playing Field between 12-4pm and choose a tree to plant. Read more
