Tours of Blackdown House in December/early January...discounted gym/exercise class membership for staff...and we could be burying a Time Capsule at our new HQ
Blackdown House tours
Work to our new building is on track and senior officers and members have been to look at Blackdown House. We had hoped to arrange tours for everyone, but as construction and building work needs to continue, this is not possible.
We will be arranging some visits in December and early January for those who want to see the building, but spaces will be limited.
Discounted gym membership in Honiton
We are delighted to have teamed up with B!, a private gym and class studio, who have two sites in Honiton and Lyme Regis, to give our employees a discounted membership rate.
B! has excellent facilities from showers and changing rooms, which are fully equipped with hairdryers and straighteners, to comprehensive cardio facilities, cross-fit rig and resistance machines plus a bespoke spin studio. They also offer a great range of classes.
B! has generously offered East Devon District Council employees their Gold membership for the same price as the Bronze package at £30 per month! This means members can benefit from all classes being included in the membership and can go anytime, plus it’s only five minutes’ walk from Blackdown House.
The staff at B! are very helpful and want to help members get the most from their membership, so they offer tailor-made programmes, access to personal trainers and physios, nutrition advice and a body metrics assessment.
If you would like to join all you need to do is go along to either Honiton or Lyme Regis and show your employee ID. If you are still not sure, Sarah and Craig Bernhardt will also be happy to show you around and explain all the benefits available or you can take a look at their website
You can find B! In Honiton at Unit 5, Weston Park, Devonshire Road, Heath park Industrial Estate, Honiton, EX14 1YL. Tel: 01404 46677. E-mail: email@example.com
Discussions will be taking place regarding the possibility of a time capsule being buried at Blackdown House. The plan will be to invite both of the primary schools (Honiton and Littletown) to make some items for inclusion and then invite them to a ceremony towards the end of November/early December. This would be a great way to celebrate the move and the achievements we have made as a council.
